Doc. MUDr. Šárka Skorkovská has been the head physician at the NeoVize Eye Clinic in Brno since 2015.
She specializes in cataract surgery, surgical correction of refractive errors, and the diagnosis and treatment of retinal and corneal diseases.
Education
Dr. Skorkovská also completed internships abroad focusing on anterior and posterior segment surgery in Vienna, Munich, and Tübingen.
Dr. Skorkovská worked at the Eye Clinic of St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno, first as a secondary physician and later as an assistant professor at the Eye Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine at Masaryk University in Brno. From 1992, she headed the electrophysiological laboratory of the Eye Clinic at St. Anne’s University Hospital. From 2009 to 2015, she was the head physician at a private clinic in Brno.
Her publications include over 35 scientific papers. Associate Professor Skorkovská has given more than 60 professional lectures at scientific conferences in the Czech Republic and abroad.
She is a member of the Czech Society of Ophthalmology, the Czech Society for Refractive and Cataract Surgery (CSRCS), the Czech Glaucoma Society, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), and the European Society for Vision and Eye Research.
In 2023, she was elected to the CSRCS committee at the congress. Forbes magazine included Associate Professor Skorkovská in its ranking of the Best Doctors in the Czech Republic 2025.
Associate Professor Skorkovská also teaches general medicine students at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in Brno.
