Cataract School for Nurses

Basic info about the event

The Cataract School for Nurses is a specialized educational program designed for general nurses and healthcare personnel working in ophthalmology, particularly in operating rooms and outpatient clinics dealing with cataract and refractive surgery. The program was created with the aim of systematically supporting the professional growth of nurses, deepening their practical skills, and consolidating the knowledge necessary for safe and high-quality perioperative and postoperative patient care.

The Cataract School program includes a combination of professional lectures, practical demonstrations, and sharing of experiences from everyday clinical practice. Participants will learn about current procedures for preparing patients for cataract surgery, proper instrumentation, aseptic principles, and operating room organization. The program also includes an overview of the latest technologies, materials, and surgical techniques used so that healthcare professionals can better understand the entire process of modern cataract surgery.

Significant attention is also paid to communication with patients, prevention of complications, procedures for dealing with non-standard situations, and interdisciplinary cooperation within the team. The aim is to strengthen the professional competencies of nurses and support their ability to actively participate in ensuring the smooth running of surgical operations.

The Cataract School for Nurses provides participants with the opportunity to expand their education in a friendly and practical environment. At the same time, it creates a space for sharing experiences between workplaces, establishing professional contacts, and mutual inspiration.

The Cataract School for Nurses usually takes place every two years. Current information about the program, registration, and organizational guidelines are continuously published on the official website of the event.
