She is a leading specialist in the treatment of cataracts and corneal diseases, including keratoconus. During her extensive career, she has performed more than 10,000 successful cataract surgeries and 1,000 keratoplasties.

She is involved in research, lectures at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in Brno and at domestic and international ophthalmology symposia, and publishes in leading journals dealing with eye treatment. She passed her first and second degree certifications in ophthalmology in 1991 and 1996. In 2000, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Hradec Králové on the topic of Endocrine Orbitopathy in Ultrasound Imaging and was awarded a Ph.D. In 2009, she habilitated at the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in Brno and was appointed associate professor in the field of ophthalmology.
