The Czech Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery (CSRCS) was officially founded on January 8, 1998. At first glance, it appears to be a young organization, but in fact its origins date back much further. This society was founded on the basis of the Implantology Section of the Czech Society of Ophthalmology, which has a long tradition among ophthalmologists.

The statutes of the CSRCS are based on the statutes of the Czech Medical Society of Jan Evangelista Purkyně. Their complete wording can be found in the attached file.

The society may grant honorary membership for exceptional contributions to the development of cataract and refractive surgery.
